Who doesn’t love a good infographic? Even if you don’t know the term, most of us have seen a pie chart or a bar graph—these are types of infographics.

"Tiebrary" at MCPL Outfits Job Seekers

Chances are, you’ve never heard of a “Tiebrary.” Neither had I until I read about a program run by the Free Library of Philadelphia. The idea is simple: the library lends neckties free of charge to customers for use in interviews. It’s aimed at helping people complete their job interview wardrobes, perhaps provide some confidence, and hopefully help them land a new job. 

Learning More about JFK

With the upcoming release of classified government documents about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, it’s easy to want to learn more about him and his presidency. Several of my relatives were old enough to remember that day, and they can tell me exactly what they were doing when they heard the news. I decided to look at a few of the databases that Mid-Continent Public Library offers, and I uncovered a lot of information in a short amount of time.  

MCPL to Expand Hours of Operation in 2018

Effective January 2, 2018, Mid-Continent Public Library’s doors will be open longer as the Library implements new hours of operation at each of its 31 branches across the Kansas City metro area. The hours, which were determined by Library leadership following months of community meetings and conversation, are unique to each branch’s individual customer needs—whether that means staying open later during the week or providing weekend hours.
